Rogers Holiday 4pc Shell Pack - Black Onyx
This item has sold and is no longer available.
This is a '60s-era Rogers Holiday shell pack. Everything on this kit is original as far as I can tell. The only real issue of course is the wrap, which this finish is notorious for cracking apart. You can see the issue in the photos.
Cleveland tags in all drums, along with the grey speckled interiors.
The kit would be a good candidate for a re-wrap... but if you have the time & patience to put into it, I think stabilizing the original finish would be the better option.* The shells and hardware are all in great shape (including the collets) and if you put the effort into it you could save the finish and keep the integrity of this classic kit. It will never be perfect, but you can preserve the vintage vibe!

* One leg bracket has a lower standoff than the others and spins slightly. Will need to be repaired or replaced.

14" x 20" bass drum serial #113124
* Wrap has cracked and lifted on a large section under the 12" tom - Complete double tom holder
* To stabilize the wrap, you would need to disassemble the drum, gently warm the wrap in these lifted sections to make it pliable, and then use a strong water-based glue. I would try a hot hide glue; any solvent-based glue will just melt through the wrap. Any excess dried hide glue can also be scrubbed off of the finish with warm water. The process would be similar to repairing lifting veneer on antique furniture. It will take time and patience, but I think the outcome would be worth it.
